After successfully winning an insurance fraud case at the trial and appellate level, Mr. Taylor accepted a position with the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation in Tallahassee, Florida to fight illegal and fraudulent practices of registered and non-registered insurance companies. [See Straw v. Associated Doctors Health and Life, 728 So. 2d 354 (Fla. 5th DCA 1999)] After winning two high profile cases at the appellate level at the First District Court of Appeal [See Bertany Ass’n for Travel and Leisure, Inc. v. Florida Dept. of Financial Services, 877 So. 2d 854 (Fla. 2004)] and Fourth District Courts of Appeal [See Robin Hood Group, Inc., v. Florida Office of ins. Regulation, 885 So. 2d 393 (Fla. 4th DCA 2004), he accepted a position as Chief of Litigation with the Florida Department of Management Services, defending multi-million dollar procurement awards at the Division of Administrative Hearings and at various District Courts of Appeal [See United Health Care of Florida, Inc. v. Dept. of Management Services, 75 So. 3d 727 (Fla. 1st 2011) and Community Health Charities v. Dept. of Mgt., 7 So. 3d 570 (Fla. 1st DCA 2009); forfeiting pension benefits of employees convicted of felonies related to his or her employment [See Jenne v. State, Dept. of Management Services, Div. of Retirement, 36 So. 3d 738 (Fla. 1st DCA 2010); acting as legal advisor to the State Retirement Commission; and acting as an informal hearing officer regarding state insurance and retirement benefits.

Over the years, Mr. Taylor and Mr. Hogan remained friends and colleagues.  Always admiring Mr. Hogan’s business acumen of running businesses for clients and representing many other varied and exciting businesses, Mr. Taylor joined the Hogan Law Firm at the request of his law school friend in October of 2013.  While with the Hogan Law firm, Mr. Taylor has secured many victories for the firm’s governmental and private business clients as represented in several appellate cases. City of Tampa Firefighters and Police Officers’ Pension Fund Board of Trustees, 303 So.3d 233 (Fla. 2nd DCA May 20, 2020).
